Edgar Hoover for a violation of the National Motor Vehicle Theft Act, 7.5 x 7.75, showing Dillinger’s fingerprints and both of his mugshots, listing a physical description, his alias “Frank Sullivan,” and his criminal history, including arrests for assault, bank robbery, and murder. The bottom states that Dillinger is wanted for “feloniously and knowingly transporting Ford V-8 four door sedan…from Crown Point, Indiana to Chicago, Illinois.” Includes a TLS by J. Edgar Hoover, one page, Federal Bureau of Investigation letterhead, March 21, 1938, responding to an autograph request. Handsomely double-matted and framed with an image of Hoover to an overall size of 34 x 18. Some foxing and soiling to the wanted poster, otherwise overall fine condition. Oversized.
