Letter to fellow Mercury Seven astronaut Deke Slayton, in full: “This letter will evidence the fact that I have received from you the sum of $2,000 to invest on your behalf in one or more business ventures in my complete discretion. While any investment by me of these funds will be made in my name, it is understood between us that such investment will be made on your behalf and that you will be entitled to all benefits accruing from such investment.” Includes a carbon copy of the text, also signed at the conclusion by Cooper, who makes a single handwritten correction to the date. In fine condition, with one expected mailing fold passing through the signature, and a rusty paperclip impression to upper left corner. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
