Chesley Bonestell

American painter, designer, and illustrator (1888–1986) considered to be the ‘father of space art,’ whose work was influential in science fiction artwork and cinema. Attractive print of the poem ‘The Explorers’ by Adrienne Rich with a border design by Chesley Bonestell, 8 x 11, signed in the lower left in pencil by Bonestell. Rich’s poem begins, in part: “Beside the Mare Crisium, that sea / Where water never was. sit down with me / And let us talk of Earth, where long ago / We drank the air and saw the rivers flow.” Nicely double-matted and framed to an overall size of 15.75 x 18.5. In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
