Newman,” one page both sides, 3.75 x 6, July 3, 1879. Letter to Mr. Walford, in part: “It is with real pain that I say that I cannot comply with Mr Waddy’s request. I have had so much inconvenience from such arrangements as he proposes, that I have made a rule, not in any case to sit for my picture, if the sale of it is contemplated. I grieve to have thus to write, and, hoping you will excuse me.” In fine condition, with mild creasing to the top edge and a few tiny spots of soiling. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
