Collection of four original color World War II posters from 1942–1946, ranging in size from 14.5 x 20 to 28.5 x 38. The first shows the Liberty Bell, Christmas holly and bells above a war bond, reading, “For Liberty and Peace on Earth,” above the image, and “Give War Bonds,” underneath; the second shows a crowded train car and asks, “Is your trip necessary?”; the third, entitled, “The Sound That Kills,” features an elaborate story board depicting the ease in which a careless remark can be used against the military effort; and the fourth is a message from President Harry Truman that encourages American citizens to follow a stricter eating regimen as a means to combat worldwide famine. In overall fine condition, with expected storage folds (with trivial separations).
