Description

Seldom-seen cabinet portrait signed the week after his inauguration

Choice 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo of Taft in a bust-length pose, signed on the mount in black ink as president, “Sincerely yours, Wm. H. Taft, March 12, 1909.” Published by Baker Art Gallery of Columbus, Ohio. Taft had been inaugurated as president just eight days earlier on March 4. In fine condition. Taft is rarely seen in the cabinet card format, and that this was signed as president makes it all the more desirable. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA.
