King George IV

Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “George R,” one page, 17.5 x 14, July 23, 1813. King George appoints Thomas K. Hutchinson as “a Second Captain in Our Corps of Engineers.” Signed in the upper left by King George IV and countersigned at the conclusion by other officials. A blue paper seal is affixed to the lower left. Double-matted and framed with an engraved portrait of King George to an overall size of 28.75 x 20.5. In very good condition, with intersecting folds (one vertical fold passing through a single letter of the signature), soiling to edges, and irregular adhesion and some fading to ink in the signature. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
