Partly-printed DS, one page, 10.75 x 17, January 23, 1795. As governor of Massachusetts, Adams appoints “Chauncy Brewer of Springfield Esq to be one of the Justices to keep the Peace in our County of Hampshire for the term of seven years.” Boldly signed in the upper left by Governor Adams and countersigned at the conclusion by John Avery as secretary. The white paper Massachusetts state seal affixed above Adams’s signature remains intact with several folds and creases. In very good condition, with tape-repaired separations to horizontal storage folds, a few small stains, and various edge tears and creases. Despite some flaws to the document, the signature is entirely unaffected and essentially flawless. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA.
