Pioneering Romanian sculptor (1876–1957) whose art emphasizes clean geometrical lines that balance forms inherent in his materials with the symbolic allusions of representational art. ALS in Romanian, one page on a 5.25 x 3.25 postcard depicting the Chateau de Compiegne, August 17, 1907. Letter to Ciurea Eugenia in Craiova, Romania, telling her that he had sent a bust “depicting you sitting and thinking of me.” In very good condition, with a central fold with partial separation to one edge, stamp remnants to upper right, and overall feathering to ink. Brancusi’s studies had taken him to France in 1904, where he studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts from 1905 to 1907. It was during this 1907–1908 period that he began to refine the revolutionary style for which he has become known. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA.
