TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, April 5, 1960. Letter to Lewis E. Keller, owner of the historic Oakhurst Links golf course, in part: “I tried several times to reach you before I left Palm Beach to thank you again for your most generous gesture in flying our Bahamian negro servant Sydney Johnson from Palm Beach to Fresh Creek Andros to see his dying mother last week…As matters turned out his mother mercifully died last Friday, three days later, thus releasing her from the sufferings of cancer. Sydney will therefore be for ever grateful to you for the opportunity of a last visit with her before she passed away…Thanking you again for what you did for Sydney, who has been our faithful servant for twenty years.” Several horizontal folds and creases (none affecting the signature), and a few faint spots of discoloration to left edge, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
