Collection of four original color World War II posters from 1942-1945, ranging in size from 18.75 x 26 to 28.5 x 40. The first shows a grizzled GI holding his rifle, with “The battle-wise infantryman…is careful of what he says or writes. How about you?”; the second shows a shivering penguin and urges citizens to order their coal now; the third shows a man looking out his frozen window and reads, “All fuel is scarce / Plan for winter now”; and the fourth shows the flags of 20 nations alongside the Statue of Liberty, and reads, “The United Nations fight for freedom.” In overall fine condition, with expected folds (with a few separations), some old tape toning, light foxing, and slight surface loss along bottom edge of the “All fuel is scarce” poster.
