Description

Edwin D. Morgan

Politician (1811–1883) who served as the 21st governor of New York and was the first and longest-serving chairman of the Republican National Committee. ALS signed “E. D. Morgan,” one page, 7.75 x 8.5, State of New York Executive Chamber letterhead, January 21, 1862. Letter to Erastus Corning. In part: “In obedience to the request of the Assembly of this State, I transmit herewith a copy of a Preamble and Resolutions of that body.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds with a couple small edge separations and uniformly trimmed edges. Accompanied by an unsigned engraved portrait. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
