Eighth Chief Justice of the United States (1833–1910) who served from 1888 to 1910. ALS signed “M. W. Fuller,” four pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 8, April 13. Letter to Associate Justice Samuel Freeman Miller regarding judicial matters. In part: “You say that Judge Field in his opinion referred to the…case. I can’t recall the language…Now my suggestion was that it should be stated that Judge Field…was obliged to explain what the case was about…the objection made was that the Circuit Court had no jurisdiction over the subject.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original transmittal envelope, addressed in Fuller’s hand. Highly desirable legal content with an association between Supreme Court justices. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
