Queen Victoria

Partly-printed DS, signed “Victoria R,” one page, 15.75 x 12, November 12, 1870. Queen Victoria appoints William Henry Ridge Gunner as “an Officer in Our Infantry…in the rank of Ensign.” Signed in the upper left by the Queen above the affixed blue seals. Three worn vertical folds, a few light stains, and expected document wear, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by official documents, not signed by Victoria, including an 1871 document promoting Gunner to lieutenant and an 1878 document promoting him to captain, as well as a musketry training certificate, examination certificate, and mailing envelope. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
