Special Field Orders No. 91 issued by Major General O. O. Howard. In part: “Maj. Gen. John A. Logan…will move at 4 o’clock a.m. tomorrow to and beyond Raleigh…Maj. Gen. F. P. Blair…will lay his Pontoon Bridges and move tomorrow morning at an early hour passing through Raleigh.” In fine condition, with expected document wear. Dated four days after Lee’s surrender at the Appomattox Courthouse and four days before Joseph E. Johnston began negotiating the terms for his surrender, this is among the last ‘Field Orders’ that the Union Army would receive.
