Description

Dwight D. Eisenhower

Off-white mailing envelope with “Supreme Headquarters, Allied Expeditionary Force, Office of the Supreme Commander” imprinted on the flap, 8.25 x 3.75, addressed in type to his son, John S. D. Eisenhower, and signed on the left side with a censoring signature, “Dwight D. Eisenhower.” The envelope is postmarked Washington, DC, January 11, 1945, and bears an Army Examiner stamp to the lower left. In very good condition, with significant scattered creases and soiling, small edge tears, and the examination stamp affecting the first few letters of the signature. John Eisenhower was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia, and served during World War II and the Korean War, remaining on active duty until 1963; his military career was largely thwarted due to the prominence of his father. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA.
