Choice AQS in French on an off-white 4.75 x 4.75 sheet, signed at the conclusion, “Saml. F. B. Morse.” Morse pens a French proverb, in full (untranslated): “Faites bien, laisser dire.” Double-matted and framed with an engraved portrait to an overall size of 10.5 x 6.25. In fine condition. Morse invokes a French proverb, which essentially translates to ‘Work hard and don’t listen to others’ criticism,’ or ‘Do well, let them say what they will.’ An especially bold, clean example with a nice sentiment from the inventor of the telegraph.
