Republic of Korea Army general (born 1931) who served as the leader of South Korea from 1979 to 1988; he was sentenced to death in 1996 for his role in the Gwangju Massacre, but later pardoned by President Kim Young-sam. Two photos: a color glossy 8 x 10 formal head-and-shoulders photo of Chun Doo-hwan, signed in the lower border in black ink; and a matte-finish 9.25 x 8 photo of Chun Doo-hwan and Helmut Kohl, signed in the lower border in black felt tip by both, with a lengthy inscription by Chun Doo-hwan.
