Mexican general and politician (1794–1876) best known in the US for his role in the Mexican-American War and the slaughter of scores of Americans at the Alamo. Scarce ink signature, “Ant. Lopez de Santa Anna,” on an off-white 4 x 2.75 slip. Handsomely suede-matted and framed with a portrait of the general to an overall size of 9.5 x 14. In very good condition, with intersecting folds passing through the signature (partial separations repaired on the reverse) and overall creases.
