Uncommon letter about his “little hieroglyphics”

German-Jewish jurist, philosopher, and socialist political activist (1825–1864). ALS in German, signed “F. Lassalle,” one page, 5.25 x 8.25, postmarked May 16, 1859. Letter to noted Egyptologist Heinrich Karl Brugsch. In part (translated): “Is it really your serious decision that I should forget my little hieroglyphics again? Really, what have I done to you that you now flee from me? Although you so often promise to visit.” In fine condition. RR Auction COA.
