Ramone’s handwritten lyrics to the D Generation song ‘Helpless,’ unsigned, on the reverse of two photocopied book and magazine pages, one measuring 8.5 x 14, the other 8.5 x 11. Ramone writes out all four verses of the song, which begins (with spelling and grammar retained): “Father collected 50s records / But he was a racist / Mama grew with Frank Sinatra / Raised two hip hop kids…Our parents gave us television / & vanished in their cars / teachers gave us bad religion / stomach aches & scars.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds, small edge tears, and scattered creases and areas of light toning. D Generation was a New York City glam punk band formed in 1991. Written by the band’s vocalist Jesse Malin, ‘Helpless’ appeared on the band’s 1998 album Through the Darkness, as well as on the soundtrack for the film, The Faculty. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the Joey Ramone Estate. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RR Auction COA.
