Self-proclaimed ‘anti-modernist’ German composer (1869–1949), best known for his opera Palestrina, based on the life of the famed sixteenth-century composer. Penetrating vintage matte-finish 3.25 x 5.25 German postcard photo of Pfitzner gazing intently into the camera, signed in fountain pen in the blank lower border. In fine condition, with some light silvering, mostly to top left, a touch of mild soiling, photographer’s stamp to lower right, and a couple trivial corner tip dings. RR Auction COA.
