In part: "This may certify that Jonathan Butler served in my Regiment the year 1780 at the end of said year he was discharged.” Includes the corresponding partly-printed receipt signed by Butler, “Jonathan Butler,” dated December 19, 1782, in part: “Received, of Pay-Table-Committee, their Order on the Treasurer of this State, to secure the Payment of Twenty five pounds four shillings and five pence.” Toned intersecting folds (one vertical fold passing through a single letter of the signature), otherwise fine condition.
