In part (translated): “The Cuban state recognizes the existence and legitimacy of private property in its broad concept of social function, and consequently, the legislative body is to establish limitations on property rights demanded by the public need and social interest.” Signed at the conclusion by Castro as prime minister and by Manuel Urrutia Lleo as president, and countersigned by the minister of works; the document is also initialed on every page by all three parties. In very good condition, with binding holes and small areas of paper loss to left edge, various light toning and soiling, and the blue seal remaining partially attached to the reverse, with the original ribbon absent.
