Sheridan,” one page, lightly-lined, 7.75 x 9.75, Headquarters Department of the Gulf letterhead, December 12, 1866. Letter to C. B. Wyman of the New England Society. In part: “Of your kind invitation to be present on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the society…my regrets at being unable to attend.” In fine condition, with a couple trivial edge separations at mailing folds and tiny stain to bottom edge.
