J. P. ‘Big Bopper’ Richardson

Disc jockey and singer (real name J. P. Richardson), best known for the song ‘Chantilly Lace,’ the Big Bopper was killed in a plane crash along with Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens on the morning on February 3, 1959. The Lamar College Cardinal’s 1950 hardcover yearbook, 8 x 10.75, unsigned, featuring an image of Richardson in the “Sophisticated Sophomores” section of the yearbook. In fine condition, with some scattered toning to both pastedowns and opening and closing pages. RR Auction COA.
