President Taft appoints Howard Gage “a Commander in the Navy, on the Retired List.” Signed at the conclusion by Taft, and countersigned by the acting secretary of the navy. Matted and framed to an overall size of 23.5 x 29.5. A bit of light rippling, countersignature fairly light, but mostly legible, and some scattered light toning and foxing, otherwise fine condition.
