Melvin Purvis

FBI agent and archetypal ‘G-Man’ (1903–1960) responsible for the capture of John Dillinger, ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd, ‘Baby Face’ Nelson, and other notorious gangsters. Bank check, 8.25 x 3, filled out and signed by Purvis, “Melvin H. Purvis,” payable to Ezra Martin for $15.00, May 10, 1941. In fine condition, with cancellation holes slightly affecting first letter of signature, and a pencil notation in another hand which reads, “Farm advance.” Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
