James McPherson

Career U.S. Army officer who served as a general in the Union Army during the American Civil War, and was killed at the Battle of Atlanta. After the war, Fort McPherson in Atlanta, Georgia, was named in his honor. Uncommon ink signature, “Jms. B. McPherson,” on an off-white slip clipped from a larger letter or document. Triple-cloth-matted and framed with an engraved portrait to an overall size of 12 x 15.75. In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
