Frances Cleveland and Eleanor Roosevelt

Collection of seven items, including two personal checks, each filled out by Cleveland and signed, “Frances F. Cleveland Preston”; two multi-page ALSs, one signed “Mother,” and the other signed “Frank,” with one letter accompanied by its original free-franked mailing envelope; a three-page TLS, signed “Mother,” accompanied by its original free-franked mailing envelope; and a hardcover copy of Ballads and Barrack-Room Ballads, with an ownership signature, “Frances F. Cleveland ’98,” at the top of the title page. The final item is a TLS to Cleveland (as “Mrs. Preston”), from Eleanor Roosevelt as First Lady, dated April 23, 1936, inviting her and her husband to visit, signed at the conclusion.
