Muddy Waters and Big Mama Thornton

Thornton (1926–1984) was an R & B singer and the first to record Leiber and Stoller’s ‘Hound Dog’ in 1952. Glossy 8 x 10 publicity photo of Big Mama Thornton and The Chicago Blues Band, signed vertically in black felt tip by Waters and “Best of Love, Big Mama,” in blue felt tip. In fine condition, with a few scattered light creases. Provenance: The Larry Rafferty Collection. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RR Auction COA.
