Selassie was one of the most revered figures among followers of the Rastafari movement, whose members viewed him as a symbol of God incarnate. DS, in Amharic, one page, 8.75 x 13, April 12, 1930. Untranslated document announcing the death of his predecessor, Empress Zewditu, to the president of Bolivia, boldly signed at the conclusion in blue ink by Selassie. Accompanied by a TLS, in French, translating the document. In fine condition, with a central horizontal fold, red pencil notations to bottom and a small pencil notation along top edge.
