George Luks

American realist artist and illustrator (1867–1933) best known for his genre paintings of urban subjects. ALS signed “George,” two pages, 5.75 x 9, no date. Letter to Eugene Thomason. In part: “Wednesday. The weather here has been very good—pleasant but hot too…The young 'Hick' who, is working for me is quite handy…I would love to run down but I am afraid that is out of the question this year…many things occupying my mind that need attention, and how?…Do try and come up early as possible so that we can get together and get set for the mentor's work.” A few small edge separations at mailing folds and paperclip mark to top edge, otherwise fine condition.
