“I wasn’t clever or smart: I just did not like to get hit, so I hit the other guy”

ALS, one page, 8.25 x 11, personal letterhead, May 28, 1984. Letter to Stu Levine ordering three books. In part: “Please send me the following: * Boxing’s Greatest Middleweights…Great Fights and Fighters…Cleveland Greatest Fighters of All Time…Please find check from the sharpest hitter (not hardest) and precise (thus far) who also moved his head, every time, just in time.” Moore also adds a short postscript which reads, “I wasn’t clever or smart: I just did not like to get hit, so I hit the other guy.” Double-matted and framed to an overall size of 17.25 x 30.5. In fine condition. Oversized. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
