Christmas card from 1942 featuring a coat of arms on the front, 4 x 5, with an image of the 16-year-old Princess Elizabeth inside, signed and inscribed opposite the portrait below a printed quote in fountain pen, “To Mr. and Mrs. Tannar, With best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. From, Elizabeth.” The printed quote acknowledges her recent appointment as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards. In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Elizabeth’s hand with her initial to the lower left, “E.” A highly desirable and rarely seen item from this period of her life; her first solo public appearance did not come until 1943, when she visited the Grenadier Guards.
