Alfred Hertz

German conductor (1872–1942) best known as the director of the San Francisco Symphony. Oversized matte-finish 10.5 x 13.5 photo of Hertz with a cigar clenched in his teeth, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, in German and signed “Alfred Hertz, Sept. 1927.” In very good condition, with trimmed edges, a horizontal tear to right edge, scattered silvering to darker areas of background, and some foxing to left edge.
