Presenting a copy of his autobiography, The Roar of the Crowd

Signed book: The Roar of the Crowd: The Rise and Fall of a Champion. First edition. NY: G.P. Putnam’s Sons, 1925. Hardcover with dust jacket, 6 x 8.25, 329 pages. Signed and inscribed on the second free end page, “To my friend Jas. A. Vance, with best wishes from Jas J. Corbett.” Beneath, ‘Sailor’ Tom Sharkey has signed, “yours truly, Thomas J. Sharkey” (he has added a crude James J. Jeffries signature underneath his name). Autographic condition: very good, with well-done repairs to horizontal separations (slightly affecting a few words of inscription), small pencil notations to top edge, and a uniform shade of mild toning. Book condition: G+/VG, in VG+ custom-made red quarter-Morocco solander box.
