In part: “I told her all of the secretarial positions in the Embassy are subject to Civil Service regulations and I can be of no help to her in obtaining Civil Service status…I am glad you liked the speech before the Pilgrims I am going ahead with this outspoken policy and I believe they appreciate it here.” In fine condition, with a bit of show-through from a doodle to the reverse and a tiny stain near the signature.
