Former California state senator and mayor of San Francisco (1929–1978), who was murdered along with Harvey Milk by a former city supervisor. Four items: three glossy 8 x 10 photos, two signed in black felt tip, and one signed and inscribed in blue felt tip; and a one-page TLS from Moscone, 7.25 x 10.5, State Senate letterhead, dated September 24, 1973. Letter reads, in part: “I am truly sorry that we have been unable to overcome the impasse as presented by the Governor and his staff with regard to insuring the pass-on of Federal funds to the aged, blind and disabled.” In overall fine condition.
