Southern politician (1807–1876) who became secretary of the treasury for the Confederate States early in the Civil War. Partly-printed DS, signed “G. A. Trenholm,” one page, 8.25 x 13.75, January 1, 1868. South Carolina merchant’s bond for $64.40, in which “Theodore D. Wagner and William L. Trenholm…are held and firmly bonded…under an agreement…in behalf of John Fraser and Company.” Signed at the conclusion by both Wagner and William Trenholm, with George A.
