Reassuring her Star is Born lyricist he behaved himself

ALS signed “xxx J,” one page both sides, 5 x 3.5, monogrammed personal stationery letterhead, March 27, 1961. Letter to Leonard Gershe in Beverly Hills. In full: “Just got your note! Wanted to re-assure you—I knew that was the real you long before we went to Pats. There wasn’t a second when you weren’t yourself. So you see—there’s no reason for concern.” Under her signature, Garland adds a brief postscript which reads: “P.S. Keep talking to Davis—and if get anywhere with her—stay there! xxx J.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Garland’s hand, writing, “by jet airplane if you please,” on the front and “Miss I have business,” on the reverse. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
