Description

The ‘Great’ Prussian king

King of Prussia (born 1712) from 1740 until his death in 1786. His political prowess and enlightened attitudes toward religion, learning, and the humanities earned him the sobriquet ‘Frederick the Great.’ LS in German, signed “Frdch,” one page, 7.5 x 9.25, July 3, 1783. Untranslated letter to the Kurmarkische Kammer requesting information about a case of abuse of office. In fine condition, with central vertical and horizontal folds. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
