Military jacket made for Cohn while head of Columbia Studios. Beige jacket features a three-button front, two breast pockets, and two embroidered silver officers bars on the shoulders. Made by MacIntosh of Hollywood, the inside pocket bears a maker’s tag on the outside of the pocket, with the inside bearing a second tag for MacIntosh Studio Clothes, with “H. Cohen,” written on the first line (accidentally misspelled), and dated June 1945 on the second line. Jacket also contains a Columbia Men’s Wardrobe stamp. In fine condition. Cohn, the head of Columbia Studios, was a despised despot during his long reign there. Upon seeing a large turnout for his funeral in 1958, Red Skelton was said to remark, ‘Give the people what they want and they will come out for it.’ Bette Davis is quoted to have said ‘I wanted to go to his funeral to make sure the son of a bitch is really dead.’ Harry did not serve in the armed forces, but just after VE day, he had studio tailors MacIntosh make him this officer's jacket to join the festivities.
