Irish genre painter (1786–1863) known for his romanticizing depictions of rural scenes and for creating Mulready stationery letter sheets. ALS signed “W. Mulready,” one page, 7.75 x 9.5, January 15, 1821. Letter to a gentleman. In part: “No explanation was necessary, I quite understand…I am really much obliged to you for the prints & for the roll of paper.” In very good condition, with intersecting folds, moderate scattered creases, and toning to corners from mounting remnants to reverse.
