Collection of six TLSs, all signed “J. E. Hoover,” all one page on Department of Justice letterhead, dated 1924–1925. All the letters are to H. D. Knickerbocker in Washington, DC, who is trying to get reassigned to Washington. After a letter explaining there are no vacancies at that office, two more letters deal with a promotion and raise, an assignment to the Washington, DC, office, and the final letter is a request denying Knickerbocker’s request for a transfer to the Detroit office. In overall very good condition, with a James Spence authentication label affixed to lower corner of the reverse of each letter. Accompanied by six certificates of authenticity from James Spence.
