Franklin Pierce

Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 14.75 x 17.5, October 13, 1855. President Pierce appoints Joseph M. Bradford as “Lieutenant in the Navy from the 14th of September 1855 in the service of the United States.” Signed at the conclusion by Pierce and countersigned by Secretary of the Navy James C. Dobbin. Orange seal affixed to the bottom remains fully intact. Intersecting folds, mild overall foxing, and signatures a shade light, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
