Original first-generation 10 x 8 glossy photo of John Kennedy painting in his yard as Jackie looks over his shoulder. Reverse of photo bears a Three Lions Inc. stamp. In fine condition. In an attempt to share her artistic love, Jackie gave her husband a set of oil paints—and a biography of Churchill, to show that even ‘manly’ men could paint—for their first Christmas together. While his skill was minimal, John enjoyed painting during these early days together at Dent Place, and again picked up his brushes the following year while recuperating from his surgery. After his recovery, his political career consumed his full attention and his hobby came to an end; Suero’s photos are the only known images of Kennedy painting. RR Auction COA.
