American father and son artists, Leonard (1828–1895) was a sculptor notable for making one of only two life masks of Abraham Lincoln, and Douglas (1856–1935) was a portrait and landscape painter. Two checks: National Bank of Illinois check, 6.25 x 3, filled out and signed by Volk, “Leonard W. Volk,” payable to currency for $10, February 28, 1895; and a Fifth Avenue Bank check, 6.5 x 2.5, filled out and signed by Volk, “S. A. Douglas Volk,” payable to Arthur Fox for $9, September 22, 1922.
