Description

“How come that you ask me to spend time meeting your request while you did not both to personalize your xeroxed form letter”

Russian-born movie and television actor (1903–1998) who enjoyed a long career. He is best known for his role as Sascha in the film Casablanca. TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, January 22, 1991. Letter to an autograph seeker. In part (spelling and grammar retained): “I appreciate your request for my autograph…I wonder: how come that you ask me to spend time meeting your request while you did not both to personalize your xeroxed form letter. Is this a proper way to ask for a favor? Besides, I advise you not to brag that you possess autographs of Ludvig von Beethoven (which you mispelled), George Washington, etc. it is ina very bad taste when you are asking much smaller people for autograph.” Also includes a felt tip signature, “Hello from Hollywood, Leonid Kinskey, 1-22-91.” In overall fine condition. RR Auction COA.
