TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, June 21, 1946. Letter to a stamp collector. In part: “I do not think that any of the Turkish stamps are available anywhere…They put me as representing the stamp highest in value, but when the author found that out, they put an end to it, for no one could be printed on that stamp except the Emperor or whatever he might be called, so they put him at the top and me in another place…We sent a set of these congress stamps to Mr. Roosevelt who was making a collection.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. RR Auction COA.
